My Korean school lunch: cabbage bean flour soybean paste soup (애배추콩가루된장국), black sticky rice (흑미찹쌀밥), chicken curry stir-fry (닭카레볶음), cabbage kimchi (배추김치), braised beef with burdock root (소고기우엉조림), and a slice of pizza (조각피자).

    Romanized: Aebaechu-konggaru-doenjangguk
    • Basic ingredients: cabbage leaves, soybean flour, soybean paste, Cheongyang pepper, green onion, anchovy stock, water, and garlic. 

Black sticky rice

    Romanized: Heukmi-chapssalbap

Chicken curry stir-fry

Cabbage kimchi

    • Basic ingredients: napa cabbage, chives, green onion, radish, and salt.
    • Seasoning: anchovy fish sauce, shrimp, chili powder, sugar, garlic, and plum extract.

Braised beef with burdock root

    Romanized: Sogogi-ueong-jorim
    • Basic ingredients: burdock root, beef, honey, garlic, ginger, sesame seeds, sesame oil, and red pepper.
    • Seasoning: soy sauce, sugar, plum extract, and water.
