My Korean school lunch: hand-torn noodle soup with kimchi (김치수제비국), black sticky rice (흑미찹쌀밥), braised pork with soy sauce (돈육장조림), seasoned roasted zucchini (애호박구이무침), cubed radish kimchi (깍두기), and a pear (배).

Kimchi hand-torn noodle soup
  • English: Hand-torn noodle soup with kimchi
    Korean: 김치수제비국
    Romanized: kimchi-sujebiguk
    • Basic ingredients: kimchi, wheat flour, sesame oil, anchovy kelp stock, green onion, Cheongyang pepper, potato, onion, zucchini, soy sauce, chili powder, and salt. 

Black sticky rice

    Korean: 흑미찹쌀밥
    Romanized: Heukmi-chapssalbap

Braised pork with soy sauce
  • English: Braised pork with soy sauce
    Korean: 돈육장조림
    Romanized: Donyuk-jangjorim
    • Basic ingredients: pork, quail eggs, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sugar, cooking wine, chili pepper, onion, carrot, green onion, Cheongyang pepper, water, and Oligo syrup.  

Seasoned roasted zucchini
  • English: Seasoned roasted zucchini
    Korean: 애호박구이무침
    Romanized: Aehobakgui-muchim
    • Basic ingredients: zucchini
    • Seasoning: soy sauce, garlic, plum extract, chili powder, sesame seeds, sesame oil, and green onion. 

Cubed radish kimchi
    • English: Cubed radish kimchi
      Korean: 깍두기
      Romanized: Kkakdugi
      • Basic ingredients: radish and sea salt.
      • Seasoning: chili powder, plum syrup, chives, onion, ginger, garlic, salted shrimp, garlic, fermented anchovy sauce, and apple.

    Romanized: Bae
